Abstract:
Currently, three generations make up the majority of today’s workforce. Do they communicate differently? Why? Do they have anything in common? In this session we’ll take a closer look at Boomers, Gen X’ers, and Millennials; what events took place that affect their views, their preferred methods of communication – and even interview questions they may ask of potential job candidates!
About Patricia Cross:
Pat Cross, MA Ed, is an experienced career coach with over 15 years of experience working with job seekers at levels from individual contributors to executive level staff. In addition to one-on-one coaching, she also is an experienced trainer and facilitator in the areas of job search, emotional intelligence, leadership development, management skills, presentation effectiveness, and customer service.
Pat also created content for the mobile application “Interview Prep” (for Android phones) which have sold worldwide on five continents. Additional apps include “Telephone Screen” and “Interview Prep for Retail”.
Since her first career as a health care professional, her career has crossed both different functions and different industries including healthcare, building trades, manufacturing, education, public utilities and high tech. Prior to becoming an independent consultant, she was a Vice President of Career Management at Right Management, a division of Manpower. In this role, she worked individually with clients in job search, conducted workshops, designed unique new workshops, and facilitated senior level “success teams”, providing support and focus for senior level executives in transition. Prior to Right, she managed the education and training function for Komag, a high tech manufacturing organization in California.
Pat has an RN (active), BA in Psychology from Marymount Manhattan College, New York, MA Ed from Washington University, St. Louis, is certified in the Birkman Assessment, and Achieve Global. She is also certified in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second or Other Language) from University of California, Santa Cruz Extension.
When not engaged in work, Pat enjoys performing in local theater and working towards reaching her goal of traveling to 100 countries.
